We are to tell you about two famous sports : rugby and football

football or soccer

Football is a team sport involving two teams of eleven players in a stadium. The aim of each match is to kick a spherical ball into the opponent's goal without using one's hands, and to do so more often than the other team.

Codified by the British in the late nineteenth century, football developed an international federation, FIFA, in 1904. Undertaken in 2006 by approximately 264 million players worldwide, soccer is the number one sport in most countries. Some continents like Africa, South America and Europe, are almost entirely dominated by the same sport. The simplicity of the game and the limited ressources necessary for its practice partially explain this success.

The calendar is dominated by two types of tournaments : those for clubs and those for national teams. The World Cup is the most prestigious international event. It has taken place every four years since 1930. For clubs, national championships and other trophies are planned competitions. The Champions League of UEFA, which is held in Europe but which has equivalents on other continents, is the most coveted trophy in that sport, despite the recent establishment of a World Cup for clubs, which is still to be legitimized.

The principle of rugby is to score more points than one's opponent. For this, there are several ways.

Bring the ball on the ground with hands or arms, or by exerting vertical pressure on the ball with any part of the body between the waist and neckThe basis of the opposing goal posts is also part of the in-goal. This action is called "trial" and its value is five points today.

Originally, the points were not counted. The objective then was to cross the opponent's goal line for the right to "try" to score a "goal" by passing the ball at the foot of the posts. The winner was the one who scored the biggest number of goals. Between 1875 and 1877, the winner was always the one who scored most goals, but the tests were used to break a possible tie.

A penalty try may be granted if the defending team commits a voluntary anti-game fault , without which, according to the referee, the attacking team would have scored a try. They are generally awarded following a foul in a ruck, a scrum, maul or a defensive offside near the goal line. The offending player is generally warned or excluded. A penalty try is worth five points and is scored between the posts.

After scoring a try or a penality try, the scorer of the team attempts to kick the ball between the goalposts and over the crossbar opponent's goal, since the perpendicular from the point where the ball was flattened. This action is called a transformation and is worth two points.

Kicking the ball between the goalposts and above the horizontal bar of the opposing goal is worth three points. Possibly as a result of a penality or a drop. In the latter case, the ball must be dropped by the player who kicks into it.
