Hansel and Gretel and the lost child

Once upon a time, far far away, in a deep dark forest, a poor lumberjack was living with his wife and their two children, Hansel and Gretel. Hansel was a carefree boy, he was really innocent and for him, everybody had a good soul and nobody could be bad and make horrible actions. Gretel was the complete opposite, she was really smart and could adapt to any situation but she could be very hard sometimes with her brother because he took everything lightly. They completed each other with harmony.

One day, their parents decided that they were going to abandon their children because of the famine. So the father took his children in the wood and told them that they were going to play hide and seek but in reality the father left them and went back to his house. At the beginning Hansel and Gretel were really scared but then Hansel said:

"It's okay sis let's just walk away and we will find something". So they started walking. After walking for a long time, they found some weird white pebbles that were placed all along the way. Gretel said:

"I think they are not here by chance, someone had to place them and, we should follow them, they are probably going to bring us to someone that would help us"

"What a great idea!!!" Hansel answered. So they started to follow the little pebbles during a long time.

The two siblings were still following the weird white pebbles when they heard someone whistling far ahead of them. At first, the two kids were so afraid that they hid in a bush waiting for the whistle to pass. They saw a fox with a yellow hat and a bow that was calmly walking. He seemed very nice and so Hansel whispered to his sister: "I think we should ask him where we can spend the night. We're already starving and we need to eat." His sister answered: "Hansel, do you do it on purpose? This is the famous Sir Robin Hood!! This is our chance, he is well known because he helps people in need." Before her brother could answer, Gretel jumped out of the bush and called the fox. "Good morning dear Sir Robin Hood, my brother and I..."

"Stop this, little girl, and start calling me simply Robin Hood". Hansel rolled his eyes, he found him really arrogant! "So tell me, little dwarves, what can I do for you?" Hansel succeeded in replying faster than his sister and said: "Actually fox, we don't need your help. We know exactly what we are doing." Gretel hit her brother: "Don't be stupid Hansel, we are completely lost! Sir Robin Hood, by chance, do you know a place where we could eat and sleep?” The fox thought for a long time and remembered a legend that he knew when he was younger: “Somewhere in this forest, I heard that there was a candy house..."

“A CANDY HOUSE" yelled the siblings. Gretel murmured to her brother that they had to find this house. "So, said Hansel, if in fact we really want to find this house, where do we have to go?"

"Hmmm, said Robin Hood, that is the problem, no one has ever found this house. You will have to look everywhere! Now little dwarves, good luck. I have to go do my duty!”

“Goodbye Sir Robin Hood and thank you very much" said Gretel. When Robin Hood was far enough to not hear them, Hansel told his sister how much he disliked this arrogant fox. "Hansel, don't forget to be thankful for his information, it may save our life!»

Before Hansel could answer, they saw a red silhouette in front of them. "Arg... Again someone”, complained Hansel, “can’t we just be alone!?"

“Stop it, said Gretel, she seems desperate!" and so she yelled "Hello little girl, do you need some help?"

"Oh, finally someone! I had to go to my grand-mother's house to give her this basket but I can't find the exit of this forest and I think someone is following me..."

"Don't worry”, said Hansel, “you have 30 minutes walking left!" The little girl seemed reassured and said «I’m so grateful I met you guys, thank you very much!" and she left running. «What is your name?" yelled Hansel. "You can call me Little Red Riding Hood!" answered the girl. After a long time of walking, Hansel seemed in his thoughts and maybe a little nostalgic. "Don't worry brother, I'm sure we are going to see her again" said Gretel.

They  keep walking and the more they walked the more they  started to get into the heart of the forest. At one moment they saw a girl .She was blond and she had the most angelic face that someone could see, with her  blue eyes and her  cute red cheeks. She was also wearing a blue white dress.  She seemed to have the same age as them. She kept saying "where are you stupid bunny?!! » Hansel and Gretel were curious about who this girl was and even more about the bunny... The strange girl noticed them, she was so happy to finally not be alone anymore.

"Hey I’ve lost my bunny” she said with a shaking voice, “he's running very fast, and he's wearing something that looks like a suit and he also has a clock. Can you please help me to find him??? And also my name is Alice»

Gretel was on her guard. She was wondering why a girl would be alone in the heart of the wood, and why her bunny would be here. She was about to say no when she saw  Hansel was already far away with the girl named Alice and they already seemed to be very good friends. So the three kids kept walking and during their walk they talked about how Alice ended up there or how  Hansel and  Gretel also ended up there too .After a long moment they finally saw the Bunny again , so they started to run fast to catch him up .They stopped by a house which belonged to a witch, a very evil witch and in there they saw children who were used as slave by her .Gretel said to the bunny to quickly find the others.

"Hurry up" said Gretel "we have to find the others". The three of them came back on their steps and began to run through the forest. They ran as fast as they could but they were so tired after all the way they had just gone through. Hopefully, after several minutes they saw Little Red Riding Hood at the end of the road.  "Little Red Riding Hood!" they all called. The girl turned back as the three of them arrived at her side. "Little thumb is in danger, the old witch captured him, you have to help us deliver him!»

«Of course" she said immediately "little thumb is my friend, what should I do to help him? »

"Go find Robin Hood, he is a little further on the way" answered Gretel "ask him for his help". Little Red Riding Hood immediately ran off while the other three, out of breath, rested for a while.

"How are we going to do to save Little Thumb?" asked Hansel "You must have a plan Gretel, you always have one". As they ran, Gretel kept thinking of a plan, but they were only children, how could they defeat a terrible witch? "Not yet but don't worry we'll find out. Robin Hood will surely have an idea" she answered falsely confident.

A few minutes later, Little Red Riding Hood came back accompanied by Robin Hood. «Hello again little dwarves, I hear you need help, here I am to save you! »  He said full of arrogance. Hansel rolled his eyes once again while Gretel explained him the situation. « It’s even worse than I imagined » said Robin Hood « but don’t worry I know how to proceed, now come on, let’s not waste time » and he began to walk away on the path without further explanation. The three others followed him, full of hope but also a little anxious.

A few minutes later, the small group spotted the candy house. « Now, listen to me carefully. » said Robin Hood « You two dwarves, are going to enter by the back door. Try to find Llittle Thumb and when it’s done get out quickly of the house. As for you two, Little Red Riding Hood and Alice, you are going to knock on the door. The witch will think that you’re just two lost children. As for me, your great saviour, I jump on the old witch as soon as the door is opened. «What if she captures us and closes the door before you can enter? » asked Little Red Riding Hood « Don’t overestimate me, I’m way much faster than an old lady like her » he answered with a wink. «Let’s not waste time, come on Hansel, follow me" said Gretel to her brother. »And good luck to you," she added to the other three.

As they walked away, Little Red Riding Hood and Alice approached the house. Arrived in front of the door, Alice only hesitated a few seconds before knocking on the door. Robin Hood was hiding behind a tree, ready to attack. When the witch opened the door, and saw the two girls, he leapt from his hiding place. The witch didn't see him immediately and before she could even realise what was happening, Robin Hood was on her. During this time, Hansel and Gretel were inside the house. Gretel was leading Little Thumb outside while Hansel taken by a burst of courage, grabbed a large pan and lowered it on the witch who was struggling against Robin Hood. The old lady fell to the ground, dazed.
